What People Are Saying
“Like a savvy big sister who just found out and can’t wait to share, Sohn takes us on a wild ride through our anatomy, and the attitudes that have kept us in the dark.” —Sabrina Jones, author of Our Lady of Birth Control
“This ultra-informative and beautifully vibrant work gave me a brand-new appreciation for my most cherished possession, my vagina!”—Aisha Redux, author of Stupid Black Girl
“A touching, honest, thorough must read. Lili Sohn uses her very personal journey to educate her audience about subjects we should already know more about.”—Elissa Stein, author of Flow
“Simultaneously provocative, educational, and disarmingly charming. It’s not just a great read for people with vaginas, I think other curious people will love this book, too!” —Kriota Willberg, author of Draw Stronger
Synopsis
Half of all people on earth have vaginas. But how much do we know about that part of our body? And why are we too shy to talk about it?
Lili Sohn thought she knew all she needed to know about her anatomy, but then she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29, and she didn’t recognize her own body. So, what is a woman anyway? What if I don’t have breasts or a uterus? You are what you feel, that’s what Sohn discovers in Vagina Love. Accompany the author as she strays from the classical anatomical path created by a patriarchal society, and instead uses vibrant illustrations and sometimes snarky humor combined with concrete scientific facts to form an easily accessible and comprehensive guide to the reproductive anatomy of people with vaginas, from periods to menopause, from orgasms to contraceptives.
